Is Smoke.following Earnahardt Sr.'s Lead ?......?

Although Tony or anyone else for that matter could EVER fill the shoes of Dale Sr. Not even his own son is trying to do that.

BUT....do you think Smoke if following the path Dale Sr. laid?

Do you think Smoke should be compared to Earnhardt Sr.?

Are there any similarities?

I think Tony looked up to Dale Sr. and learned a lot from him.

I also think he is following his lead...the path Sr. laid.

I see similarities in there actions and racing.

And I think it%26#039;s an %26quot;honor%26quot; to Tony to be compared to Dale Sr..

Tony seems to be thinking like Dale Sr. did.....

move or get moved

learn to give and take

show respect to recieve respect

work together

etc., etc. etc.

I guess there%26#039;s no right or wrong answer to this....

Just your opinion......because we all have different ones AND IT DOESN%26#039;T MAKE ONE WRONG OR THE OTHER RIGHT just because we don%26#039;t agree.

Try to be respectful and give your honest opinion without being RUDE .

Is Smoke.following Earnahardt Sr.%26#039;s Lead ?......?
I think Tony is probably the only current driver who could take on The Late Great Earnhardt%26#039;s role.He seems to have NASCAR%26#039;S attention when he speaks out on different issues.I have to agree totally with your third paragraph you hit it spot on.There is a lot of talk about the last race and Tony%26#039;s retaliation to Clint for running him into the wall.I would hate to see Tony drive any other way than he does right now.But even though Tony does not want Earnhardt%26#039;s role I think it has been laid on him anyway.
Reply:There is no way. I was never an Earnhardt fan, couldn%26#039;t stand him, but Dale never whined and cry like pretty boy does. Dale went out, raced hard and if someone put him in the wall, he got em back at the next race. He didn%26#039;t get on t.v. boo hooing cause someone wrecked him like Tony does. And nine out of ten times it%26#039;s Tony%26#039;s fault but he blames someone else. Dale was tough and drove hard, Tony%26#039;s just a cry baby JERK!
Reply:No.
Reply:Umm. there are some like and dislikes. They both have a reputation of wrecking people. But Smoke goes about it different. For Earnhardt it was simple get out of my way no warning and once he did it then it was over it was in the past. For Tony and I think for many others as well they need to leave it on the racetrack. Like the whole Matt Kenseth and Jeff Gordon deal a couple weeks ago. Tony is the guy you expect to do good every race like Earnhardt use to be. I guess you can say he takes after Earnhardt but I dont think he will ever have the succes or reputation that Earnhardt did that would be almost impossible. Earnhardt is still the most popular driver and he pass away 5 years ago so that is saying alot.
Reply:GO MARK MARTIN.................
Reply:I don%26#039;t know where the latest buzz of comparing the two has come from other than Sunday.

First, Tony has always had an aggressive side on the track and has always rubbed a bit. Yes, Dale SR. did that too. He loved to rub on ya a bit, and let you know where he stood. Rubbin is racing folks..

A lot of driver%26#039;s share similiarities, but I think Tony and Dale are two different people who might have something in common, but in the end still two different people. SUre they both have some of the same policies out on the track, but so do quite a few other guys.

Yes, Smoke can drive the hell out of a car and so could the man in black.

Is Tony the next Dale Sr.. No.. Tony is Tony..Smoke.. He%26#039;s his own driver and will go down in history as being one of hte greats for him..not b/c he was like someone.
Reply:Smoke could be compared to Sr in their racing styles, and I dont remember Sr ever sitting around teaching guys give and take. Smoke will eventually have to grow into his role as a spokesman, Sr did it after he had burnt bridges so can Smoke.
Reply:no way there are two different men i don%26#039;t like tony or Earnhardt Sr
Reply:Yes and no!

I don%26#039;t care for Stewart or his style of racing, but he gets what he is after and that is win after win! The guy is a bad *** racer! He doesn%26#039;t set the best example to the younger guys, but he is not there to teach, he is there to race!

Can we compare him to Earnhardt...no way! In the same league...possibly! As far as Jr. (and I am not a fan of his either), I think he just chooses to race clean, it may not always work out for him...but at least he isn%26#039;t making enemies left and right on the course and in the crowd...do the other teams help you get a win no, but the fans play a big part! Stewart is a lot like Sr. in the fact that he does what he has to do for him!
Reply:Well, yes and no. They do have a similar style on the track. Earnhardt was alot like Tony when he was younger, Theresa helped Earnhardt to settle down on the track and off.

people just get too carried away with things that drivers do if it is not %26quot;their%26quot; driver. When Earnhardt was driving he was very aggressive and if you didn%26#039;t get out of his way then he moved you out. Same as Tony, but he gets more flack for it. Tony is not a role model for the younger drivers but he doesn%26#039;t have to be, he%26#039;s not a good will ambassador, he%26#039;s a race car driver.

I think as Tony gets older he will change some but he doesn%26#039;t need to lose his desire to win. As far as being an aggressive driver, if you want to win that%26#039;s what it takes!
Reply:Tony doesn%26#039;t have the respect in the garage that Dale did. Dale when out of his way to make sure he connected with every driver in the garage, so even if Dale move you in a race, he%26#039;d come up to you right after and talk to you about it.

Tony just moves people and then chatters about it to Zippy and the media. He hasn%26#039;t really made an effort to connect with the rest of the garage.

However, he races like the good old days of racing, but it%26#039;s changed so much that now that style of racing is %26quot;bad%26quot; for some reason. I think the drivers in today%26#039;s NASCAR are getting to touchy about on track stuff that happens.
Reply:Tony needs to start practicing what he preaches. He makes the most hair brained young drivers look stable. Don%26#039;t get me wrong, he is a great driver...but not such a great leader. But then again, he doesn%26#039;t have to take on that role unless he wants to.
Reply:DEFINITELY NOT.
