Do you think that your born with horse instincts or you can learn them!?

My boyfriend reckons after years of saying he was frightened by a shetland(trying to eat his little apple shoes)that he wants to work in the racing industry at the barriers mind you !!!he runs from our horse he thinks that he will learn !!i said that it is born in you or not !!!!what do u guys think ??????

Do you think that your born with horse instincts or you can learn them!?
i think your boyfriends asking for trouble. if you have any doubts or fears around thoroughbreds they will run right over you and laugh while they%26#039;re doing it. i%26#039;ve been working with racehorses of all types for over 20 yrs. and you can%26#039;t have any indecision, confusion or doubt. i was born with most of my instincts. the rest were gained from experience. mine and other peoples. i got my first stable job when i was 5 yrs old in seattle wa. i took care of ponies in exchange for riding. i%26#039;m 41 now. retired (relunctantly) from professional horse care. i%26#039;ve been beat up so much, that i ache all over. but if someone called me today to care for their horses, i wouldn%26#039;t think twice. my last stable was for 30 standardbreds. mostly brood mares and their foals. when i got run over by a spooky 2 yr old, i had to re-evaluate. there%26#039;s no insurance or anything for horse hands.
Reply:Its probably like most things, if you spend enough time around horses eventually you get used to them.
Reply:I think some people are born with horse/animal instincts and bond easily but obviously still need to learn sum stuff. Other people can also learn but only once they%26#039;ve overcome their fear of animals.
Reply:In answer to your question, %26quot;Do you think that your born with horse instincts or you can learn them?%26quot; I guest if you are a horse you can.
Reply:I think that some people are born with a horse gene which means they have a life long love of horses. It doesn%26#039;t mean that you are born understanding them necessarily, but maybe some are born with a better sense of body language, our own and animal%26#039;s, and how animals respond to our behavior.

You can definitely learn horse skills, especially track skills, through teaching. It%26#039;s people who have no fear of horses who can be injured through avoidable accidents.
Reply:oh he needs to get over it. you can learn to be around horses if you are willing.
Reply:You can learn. Some people are going to be more naturally talented than others, that%26#039;s all. He%26#039;ll probably never been a superstar horse handler, but he can certainly become better than he is today. Why not be more supportive?
Reply:I think it will be good for him..just to be around them more. I think some are born with a gift for understanding horses, but many just learn..Look at the old west, before autos..Everyone had to have horses.. people doing cattle ranch work aren%26#039;t born knowing, but it is a learned skill..
Reply:got a dumb blonde joke
Reply:both actually. even though i was bron with them i%26#039;v seen some people learn them and some people have it but dont know it and kinda blosom into it and be a pretty good horseman
