How tall do you have to be to ride a 50cc race replica?

Hi,

I%26#039;m looking at buying a 50cc race replica, something like a Yamaha TZR50, Aprilia RS50, Derbi GPR 50 etc.

I%26#039;m 5ft 3inch approx without shoes on, do you think I%26#039;m too small?

Regards.

You should have no problems (5ft3in aint that small) The Derbi is a great looking bike and for a 50 its not slow (when de-ristricted) ! thats the one i would go for

If your still not sure then get down to a showroom and ask to sit on one and see how it feels, but as i said you will be fine !

No you are not too small ! You have mail !

The high way code states that you must be able to put both feet on the ground, it does not need to be flat on the ground. As long as you can put one foot down but still have the bike in a safe and able control position. The left foot is put down when at junctions etc while the right is on the brake, so the bike will be slightly tilted.

Go and sit on some bikes to see what can accommodate better.
Reply:Height is not the issue, it%26#039;s your inside leg measurement. These bikes were designed for Japanese riders, who are naturally shorter (with shorter inside leg measurements) than most other people. 5%26#039; 3%26#039;%26#039; is about the standard height for the riders that these machines were designed for. They would all be perfect for you.

Ride safe and have fun.
Reply:The way to find out is to try sitting on one (or two). Only you will know if you%26#039;re comfortable with it, no-one else can tell you. %26quot;Race Replica%26quot; they may be, but a road legal 50cc bike is never going to give you race performance!
Reply:Definately not! You%26#039;re the perfect size for one of these little Jap pocket racers!
