If either Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani stayed in the race, would results be much different?

I would like to think so, and if they continued their campaigns--it would have made the Republican race THAT more interesting. McCain was practically a shoe-in, and having more competition would have made for great afternoon television.

The thing that needed to happen was for Huckabee to drop out when he should have. Huckabee never had a realistic chance, and he siphoned off conservative votes from Romney, so effectively he handed the nomination to McCain. I blame Huckabee.
Reply:Duhhh. THEY LOST. If they had WON they would still be in the race. And yes, I guess the results would be different. LOL.
Reply:They didnt stay in the race...because they couldnt stay in the race...because they had no votes...

What is your question?
Reply:A bit irrelevant at this point, but, yes, definitely they would have made a difference...of course, do the math.
Reply:I have been giving similar thought to what you wrote and I am convinced that if Romney had stayed the curse he could have had a very good shot at the nominee. McCain was not that difficult to beat. It would have taken staying power and money for Romney.....and a change in campaign format.
Reply:Romney was winning. He should have stayed in.
Reply:You said it yourself...%26quot;McCain was practically a shoe-in (sic)%26quot; and he was was shoo-in before Giuliani and Romney dropped...that%26#039;s WHY they dropped. Five seconds more and you might have got there by yourself.
Reply:Romney might have had some impact -- not so for Giuliani. By the time the primaries rolled around, he%26#039;d lost all of his momentum. I doubt he would have suddenly picked it up in the middle of the process.
