What do you think of White people crying racism?

Do you think it's ironic considering the very long and documented history of racist policies written in to law in the United States against Blacks, Asians and Native Americans and institutionalized racism which still exists today, how quickly White people are seen to cry racism these days? Speaking of the outcry over Rev. Wright most recently, and things like Affirmative Action and HBCUs.

Maybe it's a good thing for non-minorities to feel what it's like to be discriminated against and generalized about based on race.

It's angering and frustrating to feel like you are being unfairly categorized based on your race. Or that your race is a determining factor in how people perceive you.

Maybe races can better understand each other if we are in each other's shoes once in a while.

What do you think?

What do you think of White people crying racism?
I think it's always useful to be in another person's shoes for a while. That's the only way you can truly understand their situation. However, I think all racism is wrong, whether it be towards a minority or non-minority.
Reply:Because they can't run things like they use to...and that they have to pay people to work for them. ;)
Reply:It shows we've gone a long way. It is important to remember our white brothers and sisters. They will face racism as the demographics shift.
Reply:I am sure everyone experiences racism at some time.
Reply:Nature had Never, Never and will Never create Equality

Races will always have different incomes, achievements.

Nature will not create Equality
Reply:i guess if they can prove it has happened then let em cry it all they want

I would say that it is up to the individual to choose what they want to believe. They can be a victim and grin and bear it, or they can say Hey Im going to smile and change it.
Reply:Exactly where does institutionalized racism still exist today in America???

While you are right that white people can learn something from when someone like Wright unfairly categorizes them based on thier race, but that doesn't make it any more right.

But we need to get past this obsession with race %26amp; start seeing people for people.
Reply:The only institutional racism in USA today is affirmative action, but I doubt that is what you are referring to. Please explain what institutions in America today are racists?

I think it is ironic that the race baiters and race pimps of today come from the likes of Jesse Jackson Al Sharpton. These people are never held accountable for the words they use or the programs they support. But white racists in movements like the KKK are shouted down from every corner of society, even though there is no difference in the words between them and the black racists Jackson and Sharpton.

If races really wanted to understand each other, they would hold everyone accountable regardless of race. The races would stop trying to wrap themselves in the flag of victimhood and start taking responsibility for their own actions.

ADDENDUM:

That's fine with me -- I find Jackson, Sharpton and their ilk to be highly offensive. And affirmative action is indeed a racist program ... the determining factor of whether or not a person gets to take part in the program is their race/ethnic group.

I read your two link that claim to define "institutional racism". All their excuses come down to socio-economics, not race. Better luck next time with trying to defend this phantom racism.
Reply:I think it is possible for any person of any race to experience racism. Just because it hasnt been public that whites experience racism it has happened. And it still happens everyday. I experience it personally everyday. People that dont know me assume I am racist because Im white. They assume Im rich and have had everything handed to me. One time I was walking out of a gas station and was called a "white b*tch" for absolutely no reason. I have never met the three girls yelling that at me, I have no idea what I did wrong and honestly I think it was nothin more than the color of my skin. I think people need to open their eyes and realize that racism is not just whites against minorities. Racism can and has affected everyone. Some more harshly than others but it still happens and it still hurts. I hate that people think whites cannot be discriminated against. That thought alone is racist.
Reply:I don't think all white people are racist. I don't think that just because of what their ancestors did in the past, they deserve to be treated poorly. Thats not fair. There were white people marching along side blacks, fighting for the rights of black people. So it would be wrong to say that all white people are bad. The Irish are white too and look what they had to go through under Britains rule.
Reply:My mom grew up in the projects and was descriminated/made fun of for being white so she had a ******* right to "cry racism" although she was poor so she couldn't do anything about it.

She is accepting of all races though.
